PHILIP STEJSKAL ARCHITECTURE
Q4: How does PSA charge for its architectural services?
We often get asked if we charge a lump sum fee at the commencement of a project, or a deposit for services that will be invoiced once construction starts. The answer is neither.
Our fees are based on a percentage of the total construction cost, and we allocate our architecture fee across the seven key phases with each phase constituting a portion of the overall fee. The allocation varies from project to project and we are happy to provide more details about these fee scales in our first meeting and in our Fee Proposal.
In terms of payments, from the time you first engage us, we’ll issue monthly invoices in arrears, for tasks completed on your project in the previous calendar month.
Throughout your project, we’ll keep a careful eye on both our architecture fees and the total construction budget, to ensure that both are aligned with your stated project budget.
At the conclusion of your project, the total architecture fee will be tallied against the final construction cost, and any adjustments will be made, and final invoices issued.
